Charity Fair Project Blog

Summary:For the past few weeks we have being doing the charity fair project. The charity is where students make items to sell to help a charity with cause. The charity fair has lots of aspects to it.We have had to work on a trifold poster, carbon footprint, product creation, charity research, ignite presentation with script, and other things. Those are the most important thought. The fair is a great project now you can learn more this awesome project.

Backwards Looking: Before this project I had a pretty good idea about are charity and our headbands. We had done another project with these headband. So I think we got a head start a little because we had some prior knowledge. On the other hand I did not even know what the carbon footprint was so personally that was a harder one to do. It was though because I got to learn about and now I better understand the concept. I think that we knew quite a good amount of information before we started so this project was easier.

Inward Looking:I am very proud of our project. Looking at it now that we are done I say we did a great job. I think it was a challenge for use in some regards and we did have redo some stuff but over all it was pretty good.I think next time we do this we will be better prepared because we would have prior experience. I would say that maybe we could make a few changes to our speech. We had actually gotten done a little early so I think we had our stuff together and we were on task.If I were to do this again I would probably say I would want to do work like we did this time. I am proud of our work.

Outward Looking: When people look at our work I want them to recognize the heart we put in this. The topic we picked is very dear to both of us and we care alot about it.I want them to see that our charity is something is very scary. We are supporting St. Jude children's research hospital. When we were doing this we had in mind the people we could help. I think our was different from the rest because we are kid and now what it feels like to really afraid. These kids touch our hearts because they are scared for their lives. This is what I want people to notice.

Forward Looking:If I could change one thing I would change a little of our speech. I wish I had added comparisons to us kids.I wish did this because the audience is kids and it go t heart more for them knowing it's kid just like them.I think if we added this it would make them think in a different perspective thinking that they could have gotten it too. Overall looking at our project I think we did a good job but the speech could a little touch ups. When I look at this project i am proud because of what's its saying and showing to people if we added this it would have kind of been the cherry on the cake.

Erosion Data

https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTN5gXjJGDScfO-7PHvnXEU0iakIRAEqHV-adNgKl9M8aHsit8Q
Summary: This week we have been gathering information about erosion. We have been doing an activity that is teaching how terrain affects erosion and how much. we have had a sheet that is from a website. We  had to determine what the hill in this park should be made of and how high it should be.  We got to  find out and record the information and see what was the best. That is what we did this week. we also read bird brain and I learned about different ways things can erode.

SP8: Obtain, evaluate and communicate information: This week we obtain, evaluate and communicate information. We saw how certain terrain can affect how much something erodes.for example it something has no plant and it high and steep it will erode a lot. I know this from are activity. I communicated my information with my supporting data. I learned it is very beneficial to used a silt and sand mixture to stop erosion. It helps keep everything in place you also want a low incline and your right there you have barely any erosion. This is what I learned this week.

Dirt and Soil

https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQYZzRl2a05Wwe2-yKGO6IVZCRyufYQUBknZSNzLt2Z4fKlJoceKw

Summary: This week we have been learning the basics about soil.We have been researching background information on it to get to understand what soil is. We also have been learning about weathering and erosion. I was reminded that erosion is the process of moving broken down rocks. Weathering is breaking down rocks. We have also been learning about how soil helps us.Most of what we have learned is introductory. That is what we have been doing this week.

SP8: Obtain, evaluate and communicate information:This week we obtain information mostly. For example we go information from the book and website provided. We answered the background information. The questions they asked where mostly like what is soil ? ,what is soil made of?, what lives in soil?, etc. We did a lot of this kind of work thought out the week. We also watched a video telling us about soil and another video telling us about weathering and erosion. So this week we did lots of information gathering. Kind of laying down a foundation for the rest of the unite.

Natural Diaster Essay

Our group has done research and we have found the safest place in america. The safest place is Las Vegas,New Mexico. It has the least natural diasters it only has thunderstorms and they are not that bad. It is  also is very rocky there so it has a lower chance of getting tornadoes.Tornadoes are horrible.Las Vegas New Mexico is a very safe and good place to be. That is why we picked it.

It is almost free of everything because it dodges many area of  natural diasters. First it is not in tornado alley.Tornadoes are deadly and could easily kill you. They are a spiraling colon of wind  that  moves fast near homes and cites. It mostly goes in tornado alley because it is flat there so it is easier to form there.Secondly it misses the San Andreas Fault. That is a plate that has earthquakes a lot. Earth quakes are when  the ground under you starts to split and shake. They are definitely the deadliest of them all.It is violent and its not a good thing to be in. Las Vegas New Mexico is also really safe because of that.

Its it is really safe it does not even have blizzard. So many states have them in upper usa. Blizzards can bring bad things like frostbite, frozen wildlife and properties. Blizzards are when a lot of snow get picked up by air and wind and starts to blow around and  freeze you and other things. It misses lots of very dangerous things. It also misses wildfires. Unlike places like California and Texas it  misses the wild spread of wildfires. They do things like destroy homes, trees, grass, and forests. Wild fires are like they sound they are uncontrolled fires that move quickly across these things I have listed .It can even burn whole towns. They are in a really good spot because they are away from these.

Another thing it does not have is tsunamis. Tsunamis happen on the coast and it manges to miss it even though it is near the coast. Tsunamis can flood whole cites and drown people. They build up in the oceans and  come in a huge wave that is caused by an earth quake. It is super scary but they do not have to deal with that like other states do.They have been safe from all these things. They have a really safe state.

Ok now I will tell you the one yes only one thing that happens here. The natural diaster is thunderstorms. Thunder storms are a big storm with lightning and thunder. Most of the time the scariest thing about it is the sound it  makes a big bang will scare people. If you are safe in our home you should be fine. If you in your home you will never get hit. If you where to visit then you would just need to be inside. These are the reasons why you should go to  Las Vegas ,New Mexico  because its safe from harm.

Weather News

http://prepperbroadcasting.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/disaster-collage.gif

Summary:

This week we got in our groups. So you know how for the last two weeks I have been researching natural disasters. Now we have to get partnered with another group and make an advertisement about what the safest place in America is. Right now we have shown on a map where the locations of natural disasters are. We have also started on a script for a video we will make to advertise. It's going to be like a weather news report. Also this week in birdbrain I learned lots of new stuff like that  earthquakes are like waves and there is a P wave and an S wave. We also even have a above 7 earthquake 15 times each year!!! That is what I learned and did this week.

SP4: Analyzing and interpreting data:

This week we analyzed and drew are data on a map. So for the past 2 weeks we have been researching natural disasters. Now we have a map of the U.S. and we have to use letters to show where natural disasters are located according to the information we have obtained the past 2 weeks. So now that we have finished our map we are using the data and deciding what is the safest place in america. we have chosen New Mexico!!!! IT only has one natural disaster in it. It is very good and safe so that is why we chose it.

Natural Hazards Part 2

https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSdasz48voauBqamRvonx9CPawp3qlVn3iKkTpfsFR5uKohVr7u
Summary: In Part 2 of this project we learned about tornadoes, thunderstorms, and a little on blizzards. We have to write about these natural disasters. I learned  interesting facts like how thunderstorms can form tornadoes and make a "thundernado", sounds crazy right, just like this picture. I also got to find out where they were located, For example did you know that the area where tornadoes are is called the "Tornado Alley." These are just a few things I learned this week.

SP8: Obtain, evaluate and communicate information: We used this practice by looking up information on natural disasters. We used the paper to record our findings so we can use all the papers to make a conclusion. That conclusion is what is the safest place in America. We had to be able to determined 4 questions. What it is/ description, Where they occur/ Geographic occurrences, How they form/Formation Conditions, and The Resources used. So that is what we have had to do this week.

Natural Disasters

https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTF-u5wIa-NPncoxVt2-kjOPTbVbdaG55LDyw8lgJ-uEVji4NcK
Summary
This week we have been doing a project on Natural Disasters. We started by getting a paper on a natural disaster, such as, wildfires and thunderstorms. Then, we filled in the answers with data we have researched online. For example, our first paper was on wildfires. We worked to find out where they occur and how they were formed.  The purpose of the project was to figure out what the safest place in America is. So, we had to research and find out which place have the least natural hazards occurrences.

SP8: Obtain, evaluate and communicate information: I used scientific text from the link provided from our science class to find important information and evidence about natural disasters, such as, wildfires and thunderstorms . I read about how they form, where they occur, and what they are. We used this information to fill out sheets with questions on them to get our data so we can eventually get to a conclusion about what place in america is the safest to live. We have worked on the papers wildfires, thunderstorms and some of hurricane. We have started to learn which places seem to have lots going on. All this information I just know will lead us to our conclusion.

Siberian traps Presentation

https://drive.google.com/a/oakgrovesd.net/file/d/0B5eG7Vuz_Nq8SXdGdi11NGdxUE0/view

This week we presented  landform detective project. We did the Siberian Traps. We presented our project in front of the class. When we presented our project we used Ignite Presentations.  They advance the slides automatically every fifteen seconds.

Backward Looking: Before I started this project I did not even know that most of these landforms existed. I had never heard of the Siberian Traps and it stood out at me. I was mostly intrigued by it when I found out it was actually a volcano. Also, this is one of the world's coldest places. I really was surprised. It was also a very deadly eruption. So, I just thought that was crazy and interesting.

Inward looking: I really liked our work. I am very proud of what we did. I wish that for the presentation we would have gone slower because we felt rushed. I also wanted to show of the model more, so that was a bummer. For the most part, it was a great project and it was fun to do. I really think it was cool to learn about.

Outward Looking: I think that our presentation style was like everyone in our class. Most people did the same thing where they had to talk so fast. So, we were not the only ones. I do think that we did are model different though. Most people used just paint or clay but we used actual dirt. So we were different in that way. I also think that even though are mountains were different. I felt our model was unique to many of the other presentations.

Forward Looking: I wish that we had stuck to the plan to let Frank be the presenter for our group. Unfortunately, one of our teammates  wanted to see who would be best for the job. It was a little bit of a power struggle.  Then she got to be it and she got really stressed out. So in that regard, I wished we would have just let Frank present as planned. Otherwise, the overall project was great. However, that is what I would have changed if it were possible.

Siberian Traps

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9b/Plato_Putorana_03.jpg
This week I learned about the Siberian Traps and we did a project where we had to pick a landform, research it, and make a model of it. I learned many new things about this unique landform.  For instance, I learned that it was a landform which is currently a mountain, but about 250 million years ago it was a super volcano! This super volcano caused a mass extinction event killing 93% of marine animals and 70% of the land animals. I loved getting to learn about the history of landforms, it's always very exciting.  As you might guess, this volcano made a BIG impact on everything on the planet.

SP2: Developing and using models:This week we made a model of the Siberian traps. We used materials like glue, dirt, cardboard, and paper. I think the model show a great example of what it would look like. at first we were going to use clay to cover it all. Then we thought that dirt would be better. So we got glue and now we have it all. The model helped me understand what the Siberian traps looked like because well I can t go there for myself and see. This model I am very proud of it look great and helps people understand the Siberian traps better.

Volcanoes and Mountains

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d1/Mount_Everest_as_seen_from_Drukair2_PLW_edit.jpg

This week we learned more about volcanoes and mountains. I learned how volcanoes can be different shapes. We did not learn as much about mountain, but I learned that most of the time the top of a mountain  is the oldest part. Additionally, I learned how mountains also can have fossils in them. This week, I learned so much more about mountains and volcanoes. It was super cool!

SP2: Developing and using models:Also this week,  we made a model of Mt. Everest. In this model, we got to see the different layers of rocks and which places the different rocks go. It is not not the layers of the earth. In this model, it showed layers rocks that are in the mountain. With the model,  I learned that Mt. Everest used to be in the ocean. You could see this because at the very top there are ancient sea animal fossils. So, this shows how Mt. Everest was formed. It can also show some history of the mountain. Finally, we were able to see what types of rocks it is mostly made of. Overall, this model gave me a better understanding of the mountain and its history.

Tectonic Plates and how they work

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/40/Tectonic_plate_boundaries.png

This week we learned about plate tectonics. We learned about how they collide together and they move. There are only two kinds of plates. Oceanic and continental. The things that they can do are what really though that is what makes up some of are earth. So they can move in ways that what makes things like volcanoes mountain and things like that.

SP2: Developing and using models:This  week we made a model. We use three thing frosting, fruit roll ups,and gram crackers. We used the fruit rolls to represent the oceanic crust. We used the frosting to represent the mantle and the gram crackers to represent the continental crust. For example one thing we did was get two graham crackers and get them a little wet on one side of each then we put those sides next to each other and pushed them together . Then they squished and made a bump that represented mountains. So this week was really fun and we even got to eat it after!

The earth

This week we learned about the earth and what it is like. We learned that there are layer to the earth. We also learned how to the continents were once connected. There are things called tectonic plates that moves them. This is all in the lithosphere that is the top of the earth's layers.

This week we made models. They were to represent how the earth build up after time. we had time to build them first was 5 mins than 7 than  10. each time we did it more and more. We also used tem to represent how the continents move by sliding them. Just like the tectonic plates. We used a picture of this fence it was right where the middle of two plates where. Then one day there was an earthquake and the fence moved. so we did that too with this model. So we did a lot this week with models.

The layers and rock cycle

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f8/Earth_internal_structure.png

Summary:This week we did a few thing one we learned about the rock cycle. Two we learned about the layers of the earth. It was fun to learn how our world works. I also really liked to learned more about our earth and how it works. So that is what we did this week.

This week we learned about the rock cycle and the layers of the earth. When we were doing this we all collaborated and an worked on obtaining information. We would help each other by telling each other any notes we missed. We were able to ask questions to the teacher and are peers. This week was really good I learned a lot.

Scientific method Bunny Problem

Summary: This week we have been working on the scientific method cartoon. Mine is about a bunny who gets sick from a food so its owner want to find out what food is bad. It goes thought the scientific method to find out what the food is. She used all the steps and found out that the bad food was and told everyone at here club. So that is what we did this week.

Backward Looking:This week the way I could have improved is  I could have made more squares by making each square smaller. Then  I could have made the cartoon even cooler and I could have explained more. I could have also colored it more.  Like I could ahve made a backround for each square. So those are the two thing I would do.

Inward Looking: This week I really liked the work. It was fun to be able to make up your own problem and answer. I really enjoyed drawing and making this. I do wish I could have done more. For the most part though I thoughth it was good. Next time if I do this I would want to so do some thing that could not happen for real like a zombie attack or something. So I really liked this week.

Outward Looking: I think that even though we all had differnent stories they all had the same process of doing there work. For example we all did are drafts and we all went in the same order. It was really good to do that because you could ask for help if you were stuck on any thing and you could kind of work as a team. So I think we all worked in the same way. I really liked that this week.

Forward looking: As I look at this piece I would say  I would want all my art to look the same. What I mean is I wish all my charectes looked the same in all my pictures. In my opinion they kind of look different as the story goes on. So that is one thing I would change because I kind of think it weird looking that they are different. So that is one of the few things I would change on my project.

Project blog paper towel edition

Image result for paper towel
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/9d/Paper_towel.png/276px-Paper_towel.png

This week we did an experiment on paper towels. First we got two different kinds of paper towels. Then we got them wet with two squirts of water. Finally we put pennies on the paper towels and saw which paper towel could hold more when wet. After we did that we counted all the pennies and saw which brand held the most. So this week was great.

When we first started I did not know which brand would be better. I made my hypothesis that the Kirkland brand paper towel would hold 200 more than the other brand. It was really cool because in the end my hypothesis was right. I also did not expect that we needed so many pennies. We used over 400 on the Kirkland brand paper towel and for  the other brand it used over 200.

I liked doing this experiment it was fun. It was a little hard when we did not know what the other brands name was.So that was kind of annoying. The other thing is I was gone for a day so I was behind on some group work. I have to say over all it was a great experiment. It keep me guessing I did not now what would happen. I did not even think we would need so many pennies to break it. So this week my feelings on this experiment was good .

If I were to grade myself I would give are group a 9/10. I would give us this score because one thing that would be hard is if you were to try to run this experiment you would not get the same answers because we did not know what the mysterious towel was. So I think that was kind of bad but for the most part we all did good. We worked together and all had a part in the experiment. So that is why I would give us this score.

If I could do one part over again is I wish we did more than two squirts of water on the towel.I would want to do this because it was so hard to break the towels. It took so many pennies. So if I added more it would make it ten times easier on us. We also would have not had to count as many pennies as we did. It could have helped a little on the time it took to conduct the experiment as well. So that is what I would change.

Scientific method 0824-0828

Summary:
The scentific method method always starts with a question to ask. There are many different order it can go in but it must always start with a question/problem. The scientifiic method can only have one independent variable and can have as many dependent as you want. You can also gather data for your  question and then run your experiment. Then when you are done with the experiment you show your work and tell others.

SP8: Obtain, evaluate and communicate information:
This week I did a sheet called the new scientific method. We thought about the order in which they go and orginized them in the order whe thought they went in. I also completed the Scientific Method Review sheet. We had to use the link and find the answer to the questions. We had about ten links about the subject it was in the order that the scientific method was in. It was hard some times especally when they asked question about the graphs and which one to chose. The reson why we did that was because we here taking about how to orginize data and some times I had it tied between to graph. So this week I was challenged by my work sheets making me think so I liked this week alot.

Goals for 2015-2016

My first goal for this year is to get great grades. The reson why is because last year i got all A's and then in one class I got a B. So this year I want to make sure that does not happen. My second goal for this year is in band  we have back to school night so I hope I do relly well the because there is harder music there that I am playing. So that is one thing I hope goes well.

My third goal is to be able to read a clock well. It can be frustrating not being able to read them at scchool so that is a big goal for this year. Then my fourth goal is to be able to run faster in PE. I do not have much stamina so I lose energy quicker. I want to be able to be a stronger runner where I can run laps faster. So these are they goals I have for this year every year I want to be better.

Small schools

I was surprised that my skype went off in the middle of the call! It never does that! I thought at first that my friend stopped the call yet it was me the whole time.So that is what surprised me.

"This School in Japan Has Six Students." Newsela. Washington Post, n.d. Web. 27 May 2015.

This article reminded me of my friend she use to go to a school with about that many kids in her grade. This I think is sad because you may not be able to be very social. This really shocked me that there is this much of a change. They said they do not have enough kids for a soccer team. This makes me think how great my life really is.

This affects me because it shows how many cities are so small and how smalls schools can be. We are lucky to have a place like adventure . In my opinion they should transfer some kids from schools with more kids in  and bring them there. The last possibility they could do is combined their city with another so there schools would get more business. this really made me think that San Jose is so big with so many people in it that is not a really big problem.

This article shows that this city could possibly soon be completely be gone. This  means that this could happen to other cities too. Then tokyo would get more people coming. This is really saddening. whole city's gone. I wish this will not happen in the future.

I think the author could do many things to expand on this topic. They could make a pie chart of how many people are lost every year. They could also talk about why people chose to stay in the city. These are all thing all thing important. I would really love to know it all.

Hungergames rebelion

Surprise this article surprised me I did not know that people used hungergames to rebel. It is so surprising people even got tickets and gave them out at school to start the rebellion.

"Thailand's Army Arrests Students for Using Salute from "Hunger Games"" Newsela. Los Angeles Times,, 2014. Web. 21 May 2015.

Before i read this I did no even know that hungergames started rebellions.  Before I read this I did not even know that people did this kind of stuff.  I think it is very interesting to here about others and how they take a message because people interpret things different. One thing that I thought was weird is that the army helped instead of the government.

As a learner you can tell though my work I tend to pick things that i have heard of and that is popular. For instance I wanted to read this because it was about hungergames. So if you read this you can learn more about me. That is what you learned about me. I also kind of learned that about myself too.

This article really shows how this book and movie has changed the teens of this country. They are using this symbol from hunger games  to rebel. This affects the community because now you can not watch the movie. I wonder how this has happened. How does this rebellion start?

I wonder if other countries have gotten these similar rebellions.  I read. that China closed the movie. I wonder if other countries have done the same. Will this affect the creation of the next movie of hunger games. Well, that is what i wondered.

Look in to dogs eyes you see love! article blog

Surprise: I was surprised when I saw a bruise on my leg. I was just getting changed and then I see a new bruise. It like they never stop once one comes another does. That is why I was surprised this week.

Summary: When you do things like pet your dog or play with it it makes things in your body called endorphins or happy feelings come to both you and your dog.

Citation: "Look into Your Dog's Eyes and You'll See Love." Newsela. Science American, 27 Apr. 2015. Web. 14 May 2015. /

Before I read this article I did not know that endorphins even existed. I learned a lot. For instance did you know that when you do thing like pet dogs there and your endorphins levels rise. Endorphins can also be called cuddle hormones. So basically your dog helps you get happier. That is why humans and dogs are so close.

After reading this this made me think that maybe that is why dogs are favored more than other animals. They give of those feelings. Is that possibly why people think puppy are really cute or just because they are. I really do wonder if that is why dogs are so like able. Maybe that is why they are even loyal to people.

This information could make the rate of dog adoption for children go up in the future. For instance parents would want there kids to be happy and have pets that can make them happy. This may also increase the rate of adoption from older people because it can make them happy every day. There are plenty of reason why this article could make people want dogs. They are great.

I subject the author tells the reader if other animals have this effect on the human race. I was thinking do cats have this effect  or hamster?  So I wish they would have explained that. I would have really liked to know. If they did not know than I hope they discover it soon.

SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week I was surprised that I had a bruise on my leg. I was surprised because I don't remember ever hitting it I did hit my left leg this week but never my right. When I was surprised in the morning when I had a pain in  my right leg. It hurt all day but on Wednesday it was fine.Weird right.

Surprise: I was surprised when  my peaches went all over the keyboard. I thought they would stay in place but I was very wrong.

I did not know much about circuit before we started. I learned a lot from my assignment. Now i know that copper is the best for an electromagnet. I would not have know that before. for instance in the application we used I figured out that copper usual has numbers up in the 60 to 100s. i have learned a lot  this week. So that is what  have learned.

I loved my work this week. It mathematic and scientific. Two of my favorite classes. I learned alot. One thing i learned is that the amount of coils you add  effect your electromagnet. I would have not know that if i did not participate.

I worked the same way everyone else did. We did use the same program to do this project. So we have most likely the same answers. For example we had to turn down the volts to the same exact number. at least I think.

One thing I would like to improve on is  double checking. I could have double checked my work. I my have gotten problems wrong because I did my math wrong. So thats all though. It is always good to double check.

Magnasium

Surprise: I was surprised that the dog ran out the door when I was trying to get my brother. I was surprised because my dog usually does not do that.

This week we learned about Magnesium.

Before we started this topic I did not know much about magnets. Well I knew they existed. I also knew that they don't alway attract. So I did not know much. But that make more room to learn. Thats always a good thing.

I loved my work this week. We got to do cool experiments . It was super fun. This week was a week of discovery. I discovered new things. About magnets and me.

I do think others did their work the same. Well we did get different results. but we did the same process to get are results. It a very weird thing. i know for a fact that the group I was in got the same results. So some in the class did the exact same as me.

If I could change one thing it would be are testing. I felt as if it were unfair. For instants we used different sides of the nail every time. So we got some weird answers. It was all very confusing.

My Pet Mineral

Surprise: I was surprised that I could not beat this game for my friend. I have been trying for a long time andI still can not beat it.

I did not know much about minerals at all  before this assignment. Ive learned alot about minerals so far.  For example I never knew that graphite was what pencil lead was made out of. So to sum it up I have learned alot. I hope to learn even more.

I feel really good about my work this week. It took lots of time and hard work to finish this project.I liked it because you could be creative.  I like that because creativity is what I like to show in all of my work. That is why I  felt so good about this project.

I have a feeling that I may have worked a little different from everyone else. For instance most of the class picked their backgrounds first. Well I just put a temporary one then changed it later. So I decorated  more after than before. So I did it a little different.

I would probably would to improve on it. I would want to make it more entertaining. I have a feeling that it is not entertaining enough. I really had fun doing this project though. I just wish we had more time to do it.

Rock and Minerals

Surprise:I was surprised that Enya went "kakatkalaca during elective . I did not expect her to make that weird noise.

Before we started this assessment i knew nothing about rocks and minerals. Now I know about things like the rock cycle. We also played a game this week. It was about minerals. It was were we had to do test on things like luster, hardness, etc. Here is the link to the game http://content3.jason.org/resource_content/content/digitallab/9664/misc_content/public/mastermines.html.It is fun.

I was a little frustrated this week. I was frustrated because you could not save the game. In conclusion to that i had to keep on starting over. I liked the game though. So It was not a complete loss.

My work meets  the standards because I did what was expected. I played the game. I wrote down what was needed. So I believe I will get a good score. I think.

I would need to improve on being patient. I  got slowed down often for pressing too fast. So i will always need to improve. It is hard to go slow in a rush. At  least I think so.

Lots of work

Surprise: I was surprised that I did not turn in my practice slip in till Thursday. I was surprised by that because I usually turn it in on Tuesday or even Monday.

In the past I usually used paper instead most of the time. In this assignment we had to use Google documents. We had to answer the questions provided on the document. We also had to highlight when it asked questions like highlight objects that is matter. So in the past thing were really different.

I liked my work this week because we could play games and watch videos. Well, only the ones provided.  They were usually from the same web site. They were still really fun. That was my favorite thing about this.

For this assignment I think that my work was at standard and that I will get a good grade on it. This is because I spent a lot of time and effort on it.  This  assignment was hard though. I really tried my best this week. In my opinion I still liked it.

One thing I would improve on is keeping track of time. I had to do thing last minute in my opinion. I have a hard time doing this. So it will benefit me if I
did keep track. This is what I would like to improve upon.

Documents

This week it surprised me that my dad got me mints at the  restaurant we went to. I was surprised because I did not see they had mints in the restaurant.

I knew about the topic before we started. This is because we talked about it in class. I can definitely say that I know more about the topic than before I started. For example I never knew that steam was so strong that It could take the lid of a bottle. That is some of the info I have learned this week.

I liked my work this week. I especial like how we got to play a game that was themed around the
subject of matter. I thought it w.as hard too. we had to take notes, lots of notes. So that is my opinion about this week.

Yes I did work like others did. Most of the kids in the class took notes like I did. We also had the same questions as well. That means we usually have to use the same method to get the answer. That is what I did similar to others in the class.

Next week I would like to set the goal to schedule. That means that I want to make it so it can get my work done more effectively. This week I feel as if I had not done that. That is why you make goal right? That is my goal for next week

Observing Crystals

Surprise: I was surprised that Mr. P  had slammed down his IPad on the table to describe a word. I was surprised because he doesn't do that very often.

We were comparing crystals. That means we observed or listen to what they did.

Before we started taking about this in class I didn't even know that salt and stuff like that was a crystal. So if you are to sum it up I knew nothing. That in my opinion makes it more exciting. That way you don't know what is going to happen. so not knowing thing has it benefits but only if you are bond to learn it.

One thing that I thought was frustrating is that you couldn't tell what the unknown was. I also think it was exciting at the same time. I think this because  it was like a guessing game all week.  So I don't really know what kind of feeling I have about this weeks. So that is the pros and cons of this week.

I hope that when people look at my work they will realise that I had to listen and observer for all my information. This is because we were trying to identify what the unknown substance was so we need  to look and listen to figure out what it was. I would want them to know the order that I did the experiment in. I would want them to know this because they could be like well in this experiment you found out so an so so why did you not use that info for this one. That is what I would want them to know.

One thing I would like to improve on is my observation skills and my listening. This is because maybe I would have more precise conclusions If I did this. It is also just a good skill to have as well. This week we did aa lot of observing and and listening. So that may mean that I improved.

M&M science experiments

Surprise: I went to my friend house and I was on her stairs; out of nowhere her cat jumps super close to my face. he really scared me. Then my friend and I started to laugh like crazy. HAHAHAHAHA.

This week I could see that are group was more precise when we did  the experiment. For example  we dropped are M&M in a pretty close spot compared to each other. We also got a more precise amount of water in each plate. We did this by measuring how much will go in each plate. This is called controlling your variables.

I think one of the most satisfying thing about this weeks work is that there can't be any wrong answers in these kinds of experiments. If you follow the directions you will get a substantial answer. We all had different variables so we would not get the same answer.I feel that we will keep more control over all the variables in the future thought. The bright side is that we will have a more accurate statement.

If someone were to look at my work I would want them to notice my diagrams of what happen in the experiment. I think it is important because they were not doing the experiment with me. Without the diagrams all you would have is my description of what happen. I am a visual learner so I want to make something easy for other visual learner to understand. So that is why I should and will add pictures.

If I could change one thing in the project it would be the placement of the M&Ms. I would do this because I think some of the tests were unfair and not precise. If I did this I think the end results would have changed. So for example we had a green M&M that was slow but it was closer to the finish line so it won. That why I would change it.

M&M Experiment

This week I was surprised that Mr. P gave me two student of the month forms.

This week I learned that  some color M&M dissolve faster than other. I learned this from the experiment we did.

No, I have not done anything like this in school . However, out of school I have done something similar.  You know how on easter you color eggs? Well, one year for easter I put a food color tablet in water that is meant for coloring eggs. This process was faster than the M&M's dissolvement stage.

My hypothesis was incorrect  and didn't match my result in my project. My hypothesis was that lighter M&M dissolve faster than dark. Then we did the project. After the first one dissolved I saw that its color was green. I had thought that yellow would dissolve first.

This week when we were doing are experiments no one had the same conclusion Why you may ask. Well this we all had different  variables. Such as different water levels, different M&Ms, different place meant, etc.
This is why we didn't have the same answers.

If I could redo my work this week I would make my steps more specific. This is so anyone can understand it. I think I was unclear with my work. If I don't do this it would be hard for someone to do this themselves. That is why I should have been more clear.
