Rock and Minerals

Surprise:I was surprised that Enya went "kakatkalaca during elective . I did not expect her to make that weird noise.

Before we started this assessment i knew nothing about rocks and minerals. Now I know about things like the rock cycle. We also played a game this week. It was about minerals. It was were we had to do test on things like luster, hardness, etc. Here is the link to the game http://content3.jason.org/resource_content/content/digitallab/9664/misc_content/public/mastermines.html.It is fun.

I was a little frustrated this week. I was frustrated because you could not save the game. In conclusion to that i had to keep on starting over. I liked the game though. So It was not a complete loss.

My work meets  the standards because I did what was expected. I played the game. I wrote down what was needed. So I believe I will get a good score. I think.

I would need to improve on being patient. I  got slowed down often for pressing too fast. So i will always need to improve. It is hard to go slow in a rush. At  least I think so.

Lots of work

Surprise: I was surprised that I did not turn in my practice slip in till Thursday. I was surprised by that because I usually turn it in on Tuesday or even Monday.

In the past I usually used paper instead most of the time. In this assignment we had to use Google documents. We had to answer the questions provided on the document. We also had to highlight when it asked questions like highlight objects that is matter. So in the past thing were really different.

I liked my work this week because we could play games and watch videos. Well, only the ones provided.  They were usually from the same web site. They were still really fun. That was my favorite thing about this.

For this assignment I think that my work was at standard and that I will get a good grade on it. This is because I spent a lot of time and effort on it.  This  assignment was hard though. I really tried my best this week. In my opinion I still liked it.

One thing I would improve on is keeping track of time. I had to do thing last minute in my opinion. I have a hard time doing this. So it will benefit me if I
did keep track. This is what I would like to improve upon.

Documents

This week it surprised me that my dad got me mints at the  restaurant we went to. I was surprised because I did not see they had mints in the restaurant.

I knew about the topic before we started. This is because we talked about it in class. I can definitely say that I know more about the topic than before I started. For example I never knew that steam was so strong that It could take the lid of a bottle. That is some of the info I have learned this week.

I liked my work this week. I especial like how we got to play a game that was themed around the
subject of matter. I thought it w.as hard too. we had to take notes, lots of notes. So that is my opinion about this week.

Yes I did work like others did. Most of the kids in the class took notes like I did. We also had the same questions as well. That means we usually have to use the same method to get the answer. That is what I did similar to others in the class.

Next week I would like to set the goal to schedule. That means that I want to make it so it can get my work done more effectively. This week I feel as if I had not done that. That is why you make goal right? That is my goal for next week

Observing Crystals

Surprise: I was surprised that Mr. P  had slammed down his IPad on the table to describe a word. I was surprised because he doesn't do that very often.

We were comparing crystals. That means we observed or listen to what they did.

Before we started taking about this in class I didn't even know that salt and stuff like that was a crystal. So if you are to sum it up I knew nothing. That in my opinion makes it more exciting. That way you don't know what is going to happen. so not knowing thing has it benefits but only if you are bond to learn it.

One thing that I thought was frustrating is that you couldn't tell what the unknown was. I also think it was exciting at the same time. I think this because  it was like a guessing game all week.  So I don't really know what kind of feeling I have about this weeks. So that is the pros and cons of this week.

I hope that when people look at my work they will realise that I had to listen and observer for all my information. This is because we were trying to identify what the unknown substance was so we need  to look and listen to figure out what it was. I would want them to know the order that I did the experiment in. I would want them to know this because they could be like well in this experiment you found out so an so so why did you not use that info for this one. That is what I would want them to know.

One thing I would like to improve on is my observation skills and my listening. This is because maybe I would have more precise conclusions If I did this. It is also just a good skill to have as well. This week we did aa lot of observing and and listening. So that may mean that I improved.

M&M science experiments

Surprise: I went to my friend house and I was on her stairs; out of nowhere her cat jumps super close to my face. he really scared me. Then my friend and I started to laugh like crazy. HAHAHAHAHA.

This week I could see that are group was more precise when we did  the experiment. For example  we dropped are M&M in a pretty close spot compared to each other. We also got a more precise amount of water in each plate. We did this by measuring how much will go in each plate. This is called controlling your variables.

I think one of the most satisfying thing about this weeks work is that there can't be any wrong answers in these kinds of experiments. If you follow the directions you will get a substantial answer. We all had different variables so we would not get the same answer.I feel that we will keep more control over all the variables in the future thought. The bright side is that we will have a more accurate statement.

If someone were to look at my work I would want them to notice my diagrams of what happen in the experiment. I think it is important because they were not doing the experiment with me. Without the diagrams all you would have is my description of what happen. I am a visual learner so I want to make something easy for other visual learner to understand. So that is why I should and will add pictures.

If I could change one thing in the project it would be the placement of the M&Ms. I would do this because I think some of the tests were unfair and not precise. If I did this I think the end results would have changed. So for example we had a green M&M that was slow but it was closer to the finish line so it won. That why I would change it.
